You’ve put loads of effort in designing a site. You’ve added eye catchers and promotions to grab your visitor’s attention. And now you’re waiting… waiting for those visitors to come.
There are many ways to attract visitors to your site. You could of course spend a lot of money buying advertisements and promotion tools… Why not try it the FREE way first? You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain!
First thing first: when promoting your site, always keep these tips in mind:
TIP 1: Persist
Keep your site promotion constant &ndash if you promote your site with persistence, it will catch your audience’s attention.
TIP 2: Be patient!
As you know, Rome wasn’t build in one day, neither is a continuous traffic stream… Try each method to decide what (combination) works best for your site.
TIP 3:
Never put all your efforts into only one kind of advertising &ndash you don’t want to reach the same potential visitors over and over again.
There are numerous ways to get your web site seen around the net without spending a dime. Listing them all would probably take hours. I’ve narrowed it down to the ones I think are the most important:
* Get your site listed in search engines en directories. Make sure to check your web site’s ranking to know whether or not this type of free promotion is right for you.
* Trade links with other web sites. Make your link description as attractive as possible. You’ll want people to click it! It’s a good idea to design an button and/or banner for your site to offer to your potential link partners.
* Use free classified ads: post them all around the web. They’ll attract non-targeted visitors to your site.
* Design an attention-grabbing banner and spread it all around the web. There are loads of free banner-exchange services on the net.
Like I said, listing them all would take hours, that’s why I’m not going to.
The above ones will be a good start. Just give them a try, and you’ll be amazed.
(Use an ad tracker to find out which free traffic generating system works best for you.)
And remember… the best thing in life are free!!
If you operate or own a website, then you know that you have to promote both on and off the web. You have to incorporate these two factors in order to be fully successful with an E-commerce business. I have talked with a few large Internet retailers that gave me an insight into their marketing on the web. When I was told, it all made sense and I had to implement it with my clients.
We all know that Ebay is the number one auction market place on the Internet today. Millions of dollars are spent each week on this web portal and it continues to grow each day! I am not going to tell you to open up a store and start selling your whole product line to Ebay buyers because that would be costly with little to no profit.
What I am going to tell you is to put a few top sellers in an auction, either fixed or auction type. This is to gain a large amount of viewers since the product is “hot” and they will want to purchase it. The key to this ploy is to put links on your auction site that direct viewers to your site that carries your whole product line. When this happens correctly your traffic will Explode and with all targeted viewers. You might not be making much money with the Ebay items that sell, but if you do it correctly the profit you make from these targeted viewers will far outweight the small profit margins. Give it a try because their is nothing to lose and you will be happy with the results.
When I first set out to quit my job and make money online it seemed like a very big task. Everything out there tells you how easy it is. They tell you how much money you can make in a month, or a week, or even a day depending on what you’re looking at.
The money won’t just fall into your lap, but I can tell you what you can do to make the steps to getting there much, much easier. I’ll skip the part of long hours, time put in, how you seem to think about it even when you’d think yourself “off work” and the like, as you probably are already familiar with that stuff before you even thought of trying an online business.
First, KNOW exactly what you want to sell and/or what service you want to do. This will save you lots of time just in trying to make your website or sales page correct. The rest of your website will make sense around it as well and your web page will look and feel complete. You need to know as specifically as possible what goods or services you’re offering. A subject that is too broad will not only make your site hard to find, but hard to update and keep track of as well.
Second, is get familiar with Search Engine Optimization(SEO), even with a finished site and a product ready to go, if noone can find your site you won’t sell anything or get no visitors. You don’t need to know it in the expert sense, but you should know what aspects search engines look for and adjust your website accordingly. Research the keywords and phrases common to your website’s topic to find what people are searching for to properly optimize your page for the right traffic you want to go to your website.
Third, promote your site in as many different ways that you can think of. While it’s not normally recommended to directly submit your website to the biggest search engines, taking out a few seconds to do it can’t hurt. You can do so many things to promote a webiste, and as you work with one way, you’ll often discover another way to get the word of your site around. From posting on forums to email advertising to Google Adwords, try and do as much as you can. Not every person surfing online will use the one or two ways you started promoting your site and may not see it. Get your hands dirty and experiment with as many as you can to give your site it’s best chance of being seen.
This will hopefully help tweak and refine your site so when you follow the steps after it visitors will see what they were looking for and keep coming back or buy from you.
